Mercers of York expands with move to By-Pass Business Park
York Speciality Foods, which trades as Mercers of Yorkshire, has expanded by acquiring a further 4,600 sq. ft. warehouse on a new 5 year lease on the By-Pass Business Park, Sherburn in Elmet.
The company, which is also a manufacturer of jams, chutneys, sauces and preserves, has contracts to supply a variety of retail outlets including Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury’s as well as providing products to independent retailers and farm shops.
York Speciality Foods will join other tenants such as Wincanton, Portakabin and Reynolds Catering Services on the 16-acre estate, which provides a total of some 75,000 sq. ft. of warehouse and industrial accommodation.
The estate is owned and managed by G W Sissons & Son Ltd and following the latest letting is now fully occupied.
Paul Mack, director at Gent Visick, who negotiated the letting on behalf of G W Sissons & Son Ltd, said: “We are delighted to see that By-Pass Park is once more fully let proving yet again the popularity of Sherburn in Elmet as a distribution location. This is also indicative of the wider market for industrial and distribution premises where demand has outstripped supply.”
York Speciality Food were unrepresented.
