Presidents Visit for agency
Nursing, Social and Homecare agency, Local Care Force has welcomed Cecilia Anim, President of the Royal College of Nursing for a special visit to Leeds.
The agency organised and hosted the event at the Doubletree Hilton in Leeds to provide the opportunity to meet with Cecilia and to hear her talk about the importance of overseas nurses and celebrate and recognize the work that they do. Cecilia herself hails from Ghana and many of the nurses at LCF are from oversees.
Leanne Silverwood, MD of Local Care Force, said; “We are incredibly honoured to have hosted this event and appreciate Cecilia taking the time from her busy schedule to come to Leeds and to meet with our nurses and team. We have over 250 nurses on our books who work over 4,000 hours per week supporting our clients across Yorkshire and Lancashire and so we are thrilled to have been able to invite them all to enjoy afternoon tea and to meet the president of the RCN.”
“Day to day our nurses are supported by our Clinical Lead Nurse Helen Goldsmith who has worked very closely with the RCN in the last year. It has been a year of success for the agency as a whole and that is in no small part down to the hard work of the nurses and carers on our books so holding this event was a way to recognize their hard work and show them how much they are valued. “
On her visit, Cecilia commented, “Since the NHS was first set up in 1948, overseas nurses have played a vital role in delivering health care right across the UK. It is lovely to have an opportunity to celebrate the contribution these hard-working nurses make to our hospitals, care homes and nursing homes, and independent sector, especially at this special time of year when many of them are living and working many miles away from their own families”.
The RCN is the UK’s largest union and professional body for nursing; it represents nurses and nursing, promotes excellence in practice and shapes health policies.
Established in 2004, LCF has offices in Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester. It is the preferred supplier of many large private, public and charitable organisations, providing temporary and permanent staffing solutions including fully trained and specialist qualified Nurses through to Complex health carers. The team offer direct care provision and provide 24 hour care including palliative for those at the end of their lives. The business proudly boasts a perfect Care Quality Commission (CQC) rating for the last seven years.
