Apprentice Climbs Career Ladder
An APPRENTICE has earned a promotion at a leading regional sales and lettings company.
Sophie Carr, 20, from Easington Colliery, successfully secured a promotion from apprentice to Portfolio Manager with the Castledene Group.
Sophie, who studied her apprenticeship in residential property, lettings and management at Peterlee-based Profound Services, joined Castledene’s Seaham branch in May 2014 as an apprentice. She has since completed her apprenticeship, gaining a Level 2 ABBE qualification and is now taking on new responsibilities within the company in her new role as a Portfolio Manager.
Within her new role, Sophie looks after tenants, landlords and their properties by making sure properties are complaint with the law, arranging repairs, managing landlord’s portfolios, drawing up contacts and booking viewings.
Sophie said “I am really enjoying my job and the new responsibilities and projects I am involved with. Castledene and Profound have given me an amazing opportunity and I’m looking forward to the future and what the new role brings.”
“The apprenticeship was the right stepping stone to start my career in the property and lettings industry because the work was realistic and related to the job. I gained a lot of practical experience, as well as knowledge in complex areas such as legislation - which built my confidence and lead me to secure my promotion”
Colin Chapman, Training Advisor at Profound Services said: “Whilst completing her apprenticeship Sophie has developed a good knowledge of her job role through learning and research on the technicalities of the qualification.”
“Sophie’s standard of written work and product evidence that she has produced is excellent and a joy to assess. Sophie is an excellent example of how an Apprenticeship can help someone climb the career ladder. We congratulate Sophie with her promotion and wish her every success in her new role”
Sophie plans on completing more qualifications to develop her career as Castledene pride on being ARLA registered, so she hopes to reach this level of achievement.
Amy Gladdish, Assistant Manager at Castledene Group said: “We place a strong focus on the training and development of our staff. The apprenticeship programme has allowed us to invest in new talent by providing a recruitment and training solution to support our continued growth. We are in the process of signing up another apprentice to work at our Seaham branch.
She added: “Sophie has really taken to her new role and has become a highly valued and effective member of the team here at Castledene.”
