Finley Structures to deliver 616-tonne Enfield project
Fabrication firm Finley Structures is set to construct the steel framework for a 173,000 sq ft development in Enfield, North London.
The Newton Aycliffe-based company was selected for the project by A&H Construction, the West Midlands building and civil engineering contractors, on behalf of real estate investment trust (REIT) SEGRO.
As part of the deal, Finley Structures is building 616 tonnes of steel frames for three units at Navigation Park, including office accommodation and industrial space.
Jim Graham, Finley Structures’ operations manager, said: “This is the first time we’ve worked with both A&H Construction, as the main contractor, and SEGRO as the end user.
“It shows that we’re not just a regional business and we have the capability of working nationally and competing with steel fabricators of all sizes.”
He added: “SEGRO is a major European business which targets the Southern UK corridor as a major growth area, and this project at Navigation Park is a typical signature project.”
Speaking further, Jim said that following the contract win, the company now has “new targets and new areas” and is looking for fresh opportunities.
Last year, Finley Structures saw its turnover grow to £16.4m, an increase of £3.1m, in the wake of a series of contract wins. During 2015, the firm also took on eight new team members, bringing its staff count to 68.
Finley Structures is currently delivering a £4m project at Victoria Gate shopping centre, Leeds.
