Preston shopping centre reveals new-look entrances
St George’s Shopping Centre, the biggest retail hub in Preston, is set to undergo a makeover next month.
The work will see the centre’s Friargate, Lune Street and Fishergate entrances revamped as part of a long-term vision to draw more shoppers to the city.
Andrew Stringer, the general manager of St George’s Shopping Centre, said: “There has been a lot going on behind the scenes to identify how to keep the shopping centre modern, vibrant and accessible. To attract shoppers to the city, we need to keep investing.
“Our approved plans to improve key entrances to St George’s aim to make the centre brighter and more welcoming, enhancing the overall shopping experience.”
He added: “The changes will reflect the quality of shopping on offer, showcasing the quality of our brands.”
The retail complex’s Fishergate entrance will be fitted with a new façade to make it more prominent on the high street, with all entrances receiving enhanced lighting and signage.
Andrew said St George’s Shopping Centre is on track for a promising 2016 with a number of new arrivals launching at the site in recent months, including cake shop Patisserie Valerie, camera store Jessops and Danish retailer Tiger.
St George’s Shopping Centre will remain open throughout the project.
