Huddersfield IT firm joins government cyber-security programme

P2 Technologies, the Huddersfield-based IT support provider, has joined the Yorkshire Cyber Security Cluster (YCSC) - a government led organisation developed to highlight the importance of cyber security within businesses.

The Yorkshire Cyber Security Cluster is an initiative which helps regional businesses within the Information Security field collaborate to build and increase information security awareness.

The scheme provides a networking platform to share ideas and best practice, and subsequently enables organisations to deliver high value contracts.

The YCSC has been formed under the umbrella of the UK Cyber Security Forum, an organisation that represents small companies which are actively working in cyber security across the UK.

P2’s employees work with its clients to improve their business IT, forward plan and produce IT strategies to deliver the best results. P2 is also committed to ensure its clients are protected from cyber security threats including malware and viruses, which continue to be a global issue.

Cyber-crime is a continually growing threat and can affect businesses of all sizes. For example, TalkTalk recently had its data breached which cost the company £35 million.

To counter this threat, P2 will join the exclusive group of thought leaders from the IT industry to form the YCSC. These meetings allow the group to generate ideas on protecting businesses IT and implement new ideas and processes for organisations based within the Yorkshire region.
