Stockport firm Park Signalling acquired by Unipart Rail
The rail division of Unipart Group, the multinational manufacturing and logistics company, has snapped up Park Signalling for an undisclosed sum.
Following the deal, the Stockport-based rail signalling system manufacturer will become part of Unipart Rail while retaining its existing trading name.
The founder and MD of Park Signalling, John Slinn, is now the firm’s technical director, while Anthony Isaacs is the new general manager.
John said: “I am very pleased that the management team will be remaining in place at Park Signalling’s Stockport facility as we further develop together with Unipart Rail.”
The company currently employs a team of 20 at its facility at Houldsworth Mill, Reddish.
Unipart Rail MD Graham Jackson commented: “This acquisition perfectly complements the Unipart Rail product and service portfolio and the synergies, along with our combined skills and expertise, will enable both businesses to access new markets and to continue to develop and expand our offering.”
Ian Dawson and Liz Gallagher of North West accountancy HURST advised Park Signalling during the deal, along with law firm Swayne Johnson Solicitors’ Llyr Williams.
Discussing the deal, Ian said: “Becoming part of the Unipart Group provides the team with a great opportunity to develop the business. Exciting growth prospects lie ahead.”
