Lingfield Point welcomes JLM Global Foods as latest tennant
North East snack firm JLM Global Foods has taken up residence at growing logistics base Lingfield Point, based in Darlington.
Securing 23,000 sq ft of warehousing, the firm has taken the space to house its supply of popped snacks which it exports to international supermarket groups.
Paul Huggins, Chief Executive, said: “We are an expanding business and needed more space close to our HQ in Darlington and Lingfield Point provided the ideal location.
“The logistics here, being so close to road, rail and sea links, are ideal for a company like JLM Global Foods as we have to move stock fast and efficiently.
“We’ve been very impressed with the space and the facilities here – it is extremely secure and yet very accessible which is the perfect combination for us.
“And our staff are delighted there is an on-site canteen – even though we’re never short of a snack or two!”
Julian Brooke, of Lingfield Warehousing and Logistics, said: “We are really delighted to welcome JLM Global Foods to Lingfield Point. They join a growing number of national and international firms choosing to base themselves with us.
“Our continuing success is due to our ideal location, great infrastructure, flexibility in terms of both space and leases and the unrivalled security we offer - from CCTV, to 24-hour security and gated entrances.”
Connect Property North East’s Jonathan Simpson who markets the scheme said: “This letting characterises the recent upturn in the regional industrial and logistics market that we have witnessed over the last 12 months.
“We have now reached a position where demand is now starting to significantly outstrip supply, particularly in both Newton Aycliffe and Darlington.”
He added: “The pressure for space in Newton Aycliffe has now meant that take up levels in Darlington are starting to increase. Both the strength of the regional manufacturing sector and the recent opening of the new Hitachi train building facility is further enhancing Lingfields Point’s strategic location.”
