New national role for Liverpool solicitor

Tracy Thompson, Operations Director at Paul Crowley & Co. solicitors, has been appointed to design and develop two new training courses on Lexcel for the Law Society.

Tracy will take on this role alongside her duties as Operations Director at Paul Crowley & Co. solicitors, in Liverpool.

Lexcel is The Law Society’s legal practice management quality mark and aims to bolster practice management standards and client care across the country.

The recognised accreditation scheme, which serves both law firms and in-house legal departments, gives assurance that a practice meets a high level of client care and practice management standards.

To gain this highly respected Lexcel accreditation practices are required to undergo a rigorous application and assessment process. As part of this process an on-site visit from a trained Lexcel assessor is conducted, alongside an in depth background check of the practice.

Tracy will deliver two new training courses, which will involve the training and development of new Lexcel’s assessors and consultants across the country and those seeking the ‘Lexcel Trained’ status.

Bryn Hughes, lead product manager (Accreditation Schemes) at the Law Society, says: “I am delighted to be working with Tracy to design and deliver two new training courses for Lexcel - our legal practice quality mark. These form part of our ongoing work to ensure consistency in assessments and promote greater understanding about the Standard in the market.

“Alongside being a member of our Lexcel technical panel, Tracy has led its implementation and management at her firm. Her wealth of experience will make the training practical and hands-on for delegates.”

Tracy Thompson says: “Having first been appointed to the Lexcel technical panel in 2013, I am delighted to continue working closely with the society and to be directly involved in developing two new training courses for the scheme.

“Lexcel is a mark of quality client care and a high standard of practice management conduct across the legal profession, and this is something which I am highly passionate about. It is so important for people to be able to trust in their solicitors, and be assured that they will be receiving the best possible service.”

Paul Crowley, Senior Partner at Paul Crowley & Co., says: “Having seen the benefits which the Lexcel accreditation can bring to a firm it is great news that Tracy will be working to develop two training courses for the scheme, ensuring the best possible legal practice management standards are maintained across the country.

“Tracy’s appointment comes at an exciting time as we celebrate 25 years at Paul Crowley & Co. and continue to cement the high standards of practice within our firm.”
