Beever and Struthers appointed by IBS Engineered Products

Flood defence specialist IBS Engineered Products Ltd has chosen accountants and business advisors Beever and Struthers to provide a range of specialist services and strategic advice.

IBS, headquartered in King Street, Manchester and with a presence in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of IBS Technics GmbH, the specialist designer, supplier and installer of flow control and flood protection equipment based near Munich in Germany.

IBS GmbH was established in 1994 and has had a presence in the UK since the early 2000s. The business enjoys a long and unrivalled history of providing large scale flood protection systems, including the installation of in excess of 1000 linear metres of glass wall systems in Europe such as in Keswick, Cumbria in 2011 and more than 100,000 square metres of demountable and temporary flood barriers worldwide.

The group’s expansion of its UK operations led it to seek a firm of accountants and business advisors able to provide a comprehensive suite of services and advice tailored to its requirements as a specialist manufacturer and engineer.

It consequently appointed Manchester-based Beever and Struthers to provide a combination of back office support, audit and tax compliance services and strategic advice.

Sebastian Schaubeck, a director of IBS, said: “We were seeking a “one-stop shop” with all support coming through one partner firm and in Beever and Struthers we found the ideal partner for IBS UK. The firm is supporting us in a very professional, empathetic and proactive way.”

Beever and Struthers was ideally placed to meet the needs of IBS following its first top-to-bottom rebrand in 20 years and internal restructuring that focused on reinforcing and extending its core services for clients in 15 key sectors including manufacturing/engineering.

Caroline Monk, audit partner at Beever and Struthers, is one of the specialist partners heading the manufacturing division, supported by key staff with talents tailored to the specific needs of clients in the sector.

Caroline said: “Our restructuring reinforced and extended our core specialisms in sectors including manufacturing/engineering and our appointment by IBS allows us to offer our expertise in the sector to a progressive and ambitious firm that is expanding its presence in the UK.

“A key element of our rebrand was a new mission statement to help our clients achieve better by exceeding their expectations, maintaining consistently high standards and believing that improvement is always achievable.”

As IBS is ultimately based in Germany, Beever and Struthers also benefited from it being the sole accountancy firm in the North West of England to be a member of HLB International, a worldwide network of independent accounting and business advisory practices which allows the firm to provide clients with international financial advice in more than 100 countries.
