Jobs fair date for Citizens Advice Darlington
Citizen Advice Darlington and its Pension Wise team are taking part in Darlington Recruitment and Jobs Fair on January 28, offering guidance to people regarding redundancy and pensions.
It is one of a series of fairs being held in the Tees Valley after the success of similar events held in the wake of the SSI closure and there will be more than 320 actual Darlington vacancies being recruited for.
A Gateway worker and general adviser from Citizens Advice Darlington will be attending the event, from 9.30am until 2pm, to offer advice to anyone who has recently been made redundant. Clients will complete a 10-minute diagnostic assessment with the Gateway worker to determine the impact redundancy has had on their household. The assessment will look at any effect on housing, income, benefits, debts and employment options. Clients will be referred to an advisor if necessary.
Pension Wise guiders from Citizens Advice Darlington will also be on hand to talk to people aged over 50 who have a pension pot with options. Pension Wise is a Government service designed to help people make sense of their pension options.
The fair will be taking place at the Dolphin Centre, Darlington, and aims to help people who have recently been made redundant, are unemployed or want to take the next step in their career.
The event will bring together key intermediaries such as the Department of Work and Pensions, JobCentre Plus and HMRC.
At least 14 businesses have confirmed their attendance so far and there will also be an additional 11 support organisations in attendance.
Everyone is welcome to the event and open times are between 9am and 4pm.
