Paydirt! VIP fuels domestic growth through export success

The successful export of a British brand is paying off in spades as lessons learned from its operations in Poland, combined with legislative changes in the UK, mean demand for its services are soaring.

Norfolk-based VIP Bin Cleaning, which designs and manufactures its own bespoke machinery and equipment to professionally clean domestic and commercial bins of all shapes and sizes, launched in Poland in 2014. It started by using its UK machinery, but it soon became clear that the Polish market, which works under different regulations, required something more powerful.

Eighteen months and four equipment redesigns later, and following a major national award win – presented by the Minister of Environment for Poland – the machinery and experience is proving central to VIP’s evolution as the leading brand of its kind in the rapidly-changing waste environment in the UK.

Here, councils and waste management companies, driven by legislative requirements, are increasingly in need of professional bin cleaning services. Because VIP designs its own equipment and can draw on a proven history in dealing with contracts covering everything from domestic to commercial bins, including compactors, it’s winning new tenders and major public sector contracts.

That in turn is fuelling a boom period for franchisees, as managing director Mark Harvey explained: “This is an extremely exciting time for the business, it seems the focus and determination we have placed for 19 years since our inception on being innovative, professional and forward-thinking is really paying off.

“We are experiencing significant franchisee business growth as we encounter ever-increasing levels of demand for our services – good news not only for our existing franchisees but also for new franchisees joining the business. To meet demand we are searching for franchisees including commercially-minded entrepreneurs that are keen to exploit the incredible opportunities that are just beginning to open up in the marketplace.”

Enhancing its market-leading position, VIP Bin Cleaning has also recently been accepted as a partner of LARAC, the Local Authority Recycling Advisory Committee, becoming the first bin cleaning company ever to join the organisation. The partnership is expected to deliver even greater opportunities to VIP’s franchise network.
