'Uber of buying and letting' in Microsoft agreement

London-based startup Be Street Smart, which aims to be ‘the Uber of buying and letting’, has announced an agreement with Microsoft that will see it take advantage of its cloud technologies.

The up and coming tech startup, which advertises properties on Zoopla, Right Move and PrimeLocation, has been selected to participate in the Microsoft BizSpark programme which helps accelerate startup growth through the provision of free Azure cloud services, software, and training.

Founded by entrepreneurs Adrian Sutherland and Alex Sullivan in 2015, the peer-to-peer online platform is aiming to disrupt the property market by putting buyers and tenants directly into contact with sellers and landlords; cutting out agencies and reducing fees.

Be Street Smart have also announced the addition of startup advisor Matthew Yeager to their management team, who will be tasked with helping develop the company’s mobile and cloud technologies.

Speaking after his appointment, Mr Yeager said: “I’m a customer-centric technologist and have joined the Be Street Smart team as I’m genuinely excited with their vision.

“We want to fundamentally change the way in which people engage with property, by using technology to evolve traditional relationships.”

Alex Sullivan, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Be Street Smart, added: “Matthew brings vast experience and complementary skills to our management team.

“We’re excited to work with him, not just due to his enormous technical knowhow and previous work with successful startups, but also his track record of putting great customer experiences at the centre of everything he does.”
