AMT Group targets chauffeur sector with £250k Mercedes-Benz investment
AMT Group, the Leeds-headquartered vehicle rental business, has further strengthened its position in the luxury chauffeur sector with the addition of a further five top-of-the-range MPVs, valued at £250k, to its fleet of high specification specialist vehicles.
With a focus on the niche prestige and specialist vehicle sector, AMT Group offers short term rental of the Mercedes-Benz V-Class Sport, a luxury MPV used to chauffeur celebrities and VIPs.
The new vehicles will boost AMT’s growing fleet by over 35% of over luxury vehicles suitable for hire to the chauffeur and corporate travel sector that includes Mercedes S Class limousines, plus E Class, Range Rover LWB, Jaguar XJ and Audi A8.
The luxury eight seat MPVs feature 18“ alloy wheels and LED headlamps, swivelling nappa leather armchairs and even features ambient lighting allowing the driver to choose between different colours to suit their mood.
The Sport also features comfort suspension crucial for the corporate hire and private driver market.
Neil McGawley, managing director of AMT Group, said: “Increasingly, we are finding that corporate and private customers are not only demanding top of the range vehicles, but also want a wider choice of types of models from prestige and sports performance cars, electric and hybrid to people carriers, MPVs, double cabs and pick-ups.
“Luxury chauffeur driven vehicles is a buoyant market segment, particularly for airport transfers, and consequently we are continuing to invest in upgrading this part of our fleet to ensure that we can provide the very latest and most luxurious models.”
AMT Group serves both the corporate and leisure markets and has the largest independent fleet in the UK comprising 1,500 vehicles, operating from seven locations across the country.
Most recently, the group opened a brand new rental facility near Stockport Manchester to develop its business in the North West, with a focus on serving Liverpool and Manchester airports.
As well as private individuals, customers include accident and fleet management providers; insurance and utility companies; local authorities and emergency services; and hospitality and travel businesses.
The group also has a leasing division offering a substantial short term leasing fleet comprising all types of cars and commercial vehicles.
AMT Group, which is a privately owned business employing 180 staff around the UK, offers a complete automotive solution via its vehicle rental; short term lease; contract hire and leasing; and specialist cars divisions.
