Middlewich firm Pochin’s Ltd secures £2m care home contract

North West construction and property company Pochin’s Ltd has been chosen to deliver a £2m project in Stoke-on-Trent.

The scheme, awarded as part of Pochin’s long-standing relationship with supported living property developer HB Villages, will see the building firm create an assisted care and residential centre on Chetywnd Street.

Comprising 12,500 sq ft of space, the development will offer 18 apartments spread over three buildings.

The CEO of Pochin’s, Jim Nicholson, said: “As a family business that has been working in the North West and Staffordshire region for over 80 years, we highly value the role our projects play in the local community.

“With that in mind, we’re extremely proud of the trusted partnership we’ve developed with HB Villages and the positive support this new state-of-the-art facility will provide to families for years to come.”

Gateshead-based structural engineering firm Bell Munro and Calderpeel Architects, which has offices in Altrincham and Surrey, are also involved in the scheme.

HB Villages’ managing director, Jonny Wrigley, commented: “Assisted living has become a vital community asset and one that is allowing vulnerable adults to live safely and independently across the UK.

“This is a fantastic development for Stoke-on-Trent and we’re proud to be partnering with Pochin’s once more to ensure a high quality delivery.”

Work on the site is set to begin this week, with completion due in September.
