Chocolate Works calls on York to share memories
David Wilson Homes, Yorkshire’s Housebuilder of the Year, is calling on the local community in York to share its sweet memories of the iconic Terry’s Chocolate Factory. Having launched its new development on the brownfield site last summer, David Wilson Homes is launching a search for memories of the past from York residents, which will be placed in to a time capsule at the site.
The campaign was launched by the local housebuilder, following the overwhelming sense of community the new development has delivered. Paul Hogan, Sales Director comments: “The Chocolate Works is an industry leading scheme that has been designed to reflect and complement the historic Terry’s Chocolate Factory. The site is steeped in history, and is held very dearly in the hearts of York’s community.
“Since launching the development we have been hugely impressed by the number of local people that have really positive and important memories of the factory. We were keen to honour this, so we have launched this initiative for people to share their special memories of the factory. We’ll be inviting those whose memories are chosen down to the burial of the capsule – so we’re really excited to see what entries we receive.”
David Wilson Homes is encouraging those looking to share their memories of Terry’s Chocolate Factory to send no more than 500 words and any images to chocolate@manifestcomms.co.uk. Or alternatively letters and items can be posted to Team Chocolate at Manifest Communications, Roundhouse Business Park, Leeds, LS12 1AH. Please state your name, age and contact details in any submissions.
