York development becomes fastest selling Yorkshire housing development
A development on the former site of the Terry’s Chocolate Factory has seen sales soar as demand increases in York for quality housing. The Chocolate Works, which is being developed by leading local house builder David Wilson Homes, is now one of the house builder’s fastest selling developments in Yorkshire as buyers rush to snap up much needed new homes in the city.
Since the development launched in July 2015, 24 properties have sold at The Chocolate Works, with an average of one home sold every week. Located in the sought after South Bank area of York and just 15 minutes from the city centre, the development includes a range of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes and apartments appealing to a range of buyers, many of whom have been quick to snap up the new homes as demand for property increases in the area.
Paul Hogan, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes Yorkshire East, commented: “The Chocolate Works is a truly special development which is breathing new life into one of York’s most iconic landmarks, so we aren’t surprised to learn that it has become our fastest selling development to date in Yorkshire. The people of York are in need of new housing, and it’s fantastic to be able to utilise the site of the former Terry’s Factory and a much-loved part of York’s history, in the creation of much needed new homes in the city.
“The development includes a range of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom houses and apartments which appeal to many types of buyers and every detail, down to the colour of the door frames, has been designed with quality and the site’s rich history in mind. This, and the development’s location in a much sought after area of the city, means that we only expect demand to increase as the people of York continue to seek high quality homes in one of the region’s most in demand areas.”
