Manchester Airport to invest £1.6m in Escape Lounge overhaul

Manchester Airport is set to invest £1.6m in transforming its Terminal 2 Escape Lounge

The project will boost the size of the lounge by more than a third, increasing its passenger capacity to 212 and adding a new kitchen and bar by combining two lounges into one.

The airport’s head of retail and lounges, Kevin Smith, said: “The Escape Lounge brand continues to go from strength to strength and we are committed to offering our passengers the best possible facilities to make sure they get their trips off to a great start.

“The £1.6m investment in our Terminal 2 Escape Lounge will provide our passengers with the latest facilities and I’m excited for the re-opening in April.”

The Terminal 2 Escape Lounge was launched in 2009, with Manchester Airports Group, the site’s operator, adding another to Terminal 1 in 2010 and a third at Terminal 3 in 2013.

The concept was rolled out to East Midlands and London Stansted airports in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
