Odeon to mix fine-dining with films with new Islington cinema
Cinema chain Odeon has announced it is to open a branch of its high-end Lounge cinema concept at the new Islington Square development in London.
The Lounge at Islington Square will boast three-course meals prepared by professional chefs, along with cocktails and fine wine served by bartenders, allowing cinemagoers to wine and dine in one of the planned six boutique screening rooms.
The 22,000 sq ft development has been designed by Sager Group, the London property developer, and is scheduled to open later this year.
It will be the second Odeon Lounge cinema after the Lounge at Whiteleys which opened in 2012.
Duncan Reynolds, managing director of ODEON UK & Ireland, told BigHospitality.com: “The Lounge at Islington Square will provide the most innovative and luxurious experience available in cinema today, in one of London’s most sought after locations.
“This is a luxurious way of enjoying exciting new films with friends and family, and is the perfect way to make a visit to the cinema extra special, offering all our guests the opportunity to relax and enjoy fine food and drinks in an exclusive environment.”
