Brockton Capital and Landid begin work on Porter Building office development
London-based real estate firm Brockton Capital and property developer Landid have begun work on a major new office development in Slough.
The Porter Building, which totals 115,000 sq ft, has been designed by architects tp bennett and will sit directly adjacent to Slough train station.
Scheduled for completion in August 2017, the development will create 200-250 jobs for the duration of the project and is part of a wider scheme to redevelop the area surrounding the current railway station ahead of the arrival of Crossrail to Slough in early 2019.
Tony Edgley, Partner at Brockton Capital LLP, said: “The Landid/Brockton partnership is committed to delivering workplaces that directly respond to the needs of the next generation of increasingly discerning and informed occupiers, positioning our buildings to attract the very best talent.
“This ethos is reflected in the quality and character of our portfolio, which delivers the right combination of design, connectivity, service, sustainability and value, within an amenity rich, urban setting.”
Trevor Silver, Managing Director at Landid, added: “The Porter Building will be Slough’s best located contemporary workplace, offering the next generation of occupiers a competitive and distinctive urban office just 15 minutes from London by train.
“The scheme responds to the Council’s agenda to create jobs and promote the regeneration of Slough.”
It is part of a trio of joint developments between Brockton and Landid, who are also working together on The Charter Building in Uxbridge and Thames Tower in Reading.
