Key appointment highlights Higgs’ ambitious plans

Midlands based law firm Higgs & Sons has significantly enhanced its service portfolio after recruiting Dinah Patel, a solicitor specialising in planning and highways.

The appointment enables Higgs to offer a dedicated planning and highways service as part of its top commercial property offering.

Dinah, who joins Higgs from the Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co Birmingham office, is an expert in planning, highways and compulsory purchase matters.

Her experience covers all aspects of commercial and residential development schemes, having acted for developers, landowners and the public sector during her extensive career.

“This is a significant appointment for Higgs & Sons,” said head of the Commercial Property department, Peter Coleman.

“We are one of the foremost property teams in the Midlands and, with Dinah joining us, we can provide specialist support to clients as they negotiate the complexities of the planning process.”

Dinah began her career within the planning department of Birmingham council, gaining a valuable insight into the workings of one of the UK’s largest local authorities.

She said: “Eight years working for a large national law firm gave me significant experience of major projects. I am now looking forward to helping Higgs & Sons develop a specialist planning service for clients across the region and nationally.”

Peter Coleman added: “The commercial property sector has been particularly buoyant in this region over the past eighteen months and our team has been involved in several of the deals that have fuelled this growth.
