Specialist rural country store to open in North Yorkshire this Easter
A new country store, specialising in animal care products, is set to open in North Yorkshire this Easter.
Rabbit Hill Country Store will be a one-stop-shop for the rural community, offering Farm, Equine, Pet and Gardening Supplies.
Located between Harrogate and York in a former barn on the new Rabbit Hill development, just off the A1 between junctions 47 and 48; Rabbit Hill Country Store will open six days a week, with late-night shopping on a Thursday.
Katy Bielby, the store’s owner, said: “As North Yorkshire locals, we know how difficult it can be for people to find the products they need at a place that is convenient to them, so we can’t wait to open Rabbit Hill Country Store and Rural Supplies, packed with all the products you are likely to need at attractive prices.”
The store will stocking a wide range of rural products, including grass seeds, fertilisers as well as domestic animal feeds and beddings.
Katy graduated from the agricultural institution Harper Adams University with a degree in Farm Animal Health and is a Suitably Qualified Person (SQP) – an animal medicine adviser who is entitled to prescribe and/or supply certain veterinary medicines under the Veterinary Medicines Regulations.
Co-owner Glenn Brown has an agricultural background with particular links to Suckler cattle and sheep, and store manager Angie Johnson is a farmer’s daughter from Damby Whiske, who has worked in the country store retail sector for 16 years and prior to this worked in the equestrian industry for 12 years.
Staff member Gordon Jackson, a local mixed farmer’s son, graduated from Askham Bryan College in 2007 with a National Diploma in Agriculture.
Rabbit Hill Country Store and Rural Supplies will be a dog-friendly store, offering a weigh-in service and exercise tips for animals, as well as help and advice on the suitability of products, such as flea treatments and wormers.
Katy added: “We are very passionate about animal health and care and are qualified and registered to sell a range of products that you wouldn’t be able to buy in many normal stores.
“Our aim is to offer a good, friendly and helpful service to the local community and we will listen to our customers and their needs to provide advice on what is suitable for them.
“Our farming background, experienced industry knowledge and links to quality local and national suppliers will ensure Rabbit Hill Country Store and Rural Supplies is the perfect place to stock up on all your essentials, whether you’re a small pet owner or a landscape gardener needing supplies.”
Rabbit Hill Country Store and Rural Supplies will officially open its doors on Saturday 5th March.
