Anthology secures permission for 316-home Deptford Foundry development

London property developers Anthology have received planning permission for their 316-home development in Deptford, south east London.

The Deptford Foundry scheme, which will see the creation of a new neighbourhood on the former Arklow Road Trading Estate, totals 2.9 acres and will comprise a collection 1, 2 and 3 bed apartments as well as a 32,000 sq ft creative employment space.

Anthology, who focus their development exclusively on zones 1 to 4 in London, contracted London-based Rolfe Judd Architecture to design the development’s mix of social rented homes and open market homes.

Following the project getting the green light, Mark Dickinson, Managing Director at Anthology commented: “Deptford Foundry is the first development to be created by Anthology and this is a very exciting time for us after many months of planning and work behind the scenes. We are looking forward to sharing our vision as the new neighbourhood comes to life.

“Deptford has a strong community which is packed full of diversity and rich history so we are proud to be launching the first of Anthology’s developments in this area.

“We are keen to embrace the local characteristics and the history of the former trading estate, previously home to a metal foundry, through the homes being constructed on the site.

He added: “The development will not only provide new homes for the area but also create extra jobs and enhance the public space, which we hope will help boost the local economy. We have been working collaboratively with local residents and Lewisham Council to ensure the full potential of the vacant site is unlocked.”
