Fitness group Xtend Barre opens European flagship in Marylebone
The American fitness group Xtend Barre has announced it is to open its first European location in Marylebone, London, in May.
Located at 49 Marylebone High Street, the 3,000 sq ft property will be the group’s flagship European location, coming nine years after its launch in Florida.
Xtend Barre, which was founded by professional dancer Andrea Rogers, offers a range of workouts that incorporate elements of dance, ballet and pilates, and has proven popular with A-list celebrities such as Madonna and Margot Robbie.
Casey Philips, Acquisitions Agent at Shelley Sandzer, who acted on behalf of Xtend Barre commented: “The D2 sector has had a massive growth spurt over the last five years with more small to medium sized offers such as spinning, yoga and personal fitness entering the market.
“Spurred on by demand and profitability, this has had a real impact on rents, with operators going to great lengths to secure a D2 use in the right location.”
“Within this very competitive market, Shelley Sandzer’s unparalleled knowledge of sites meant that we were able to secure the perfect location for Xtend Barre’s flagship.
“We are very happy to have fulfilled their brief and help them launch the Xtend Barre brand in the capital.”
Catie Miller, Owner and Founder at Xtend Barre London, added: “Following our pop-up site in central London, we are so excited to be finally launching a permanent flagship on Marylebone High Street.
“Working out is now very much a part of modern living, and as a result, competition for space has intensified. Shelley Sandzer was excellent throughout the process, providing expertise within the health and fitness sector and the leisure property market. We can’t wait to open our doors and introduce people to our unique workouts.”
