Pumping up the volume at Telford pub
Our Servicing Engineer Rob was called out to a pub in Telford, Shropshire this week to inspect the pump station on site, as the alarm had been triggered and alerted our customer to a problem.
On arrival, Rob set up a lifting frame over the manhole to lift the heavy duty pumps out. The problem quickly became apparently, as both pumps were completely blocked!
It’s amazing what gets flushed down the loo from time to time, and blockages are easily caused from flushing nappies, sanitary towels and baby wipes, as well as the more unusual rags, soft toys and tennis balls we have also come across before!
Rob set to work unblocking the pumps and cleaning them thoroughly – luckily we were there quickly enough to rescue the pumps before they failed entirely, as replacement of these would have resulted in a hefty bill!
Blockages can cause all manner of problems, and can easily result in overflowing drains and backing-up of toilets, so it’s important to get problems rectified immediately. Luckily, Rob was straight on the case and managed to solve the problem without any hassle or worry for the customer.
If you’re concerned about your pump station, think you might have a blockage or your alarm has activated, give us a call on 01388 537030 and our engineers will be on the way!
