Hartlepool Business Award welcomes major sponsor
A MAJOR new sponsor with its history firmly entrenched in the town has been announced by the Hartlepool Business Awards.
Seymour Civil Engineering has backed its hometown award ceremony in what is expected to be a highly competitive event amongst the business community.
The sponsorship coup comes on the back of the announcement that home town hero and Sky Sports favourite Jeff Stelling is to compere the evening at the Borough Hall.
Kevin Byrne, Managing Director of Seymour Civil Engineering based on the town’s marina, said: “On the back of having our most successful year to date and celebrating moving into new premises, we wanted to give something back and help to encourage more business to start and grow.
“Hartlepool has been a great base for us for the past 38 years and we are fiercely proud of where we are from.
“We were winners ourselves many years back but due to our sponsorship we won’t be entering this year, so we wish all of the businesses the best of luck and look forward to meeting them on the night.”
With the deadline for entries looming, Hartlepool-based businesses are being encouraged to get their entries submitted quickly to be in with a chance of winning not only the kudos of the awards, but a £500 cheque as one of the ten category winners or £1,000 if you win the overall Business of the Year.
Andy Steel, Business Awards Co-ordinator said: “It is absolutely magnificent to have Seymour Civil Engineering on board. They are a great local company and we really appreciate their support.
“The awards submissions are coming in thick and fast and it is good to see a mixture of large and small businesses from all sectors entering this year across the board. I think Jeff’s attendance has sparked a lot of interest too, it is shaping up to being another great night of celebration for local businesses and I encourage anyone thinking of entering who hasn’t already done so to apply over the next few weeks and join the celebrations in May.
The categories for the awards are: Business Leader of the Year, Creative Industries, New Business, Investment in Training, Young Entrepreneur, Best Small Business, Community Award, Manufacturing, Service Industry, Tourism & Leisure. The winner of all of these categories will be put forward for the ultimate title of Business of the Year.
Deadline for submissions is March 11 and details on criteria as well as application forms can be found at http://hartlepoolbusinessforum.co.uk/hartlepoolbusinessawards. Alternatively call (01429) 874555 for more information.
The awards take place on Thursday May 12 at Hartlepool Borough Hall and tickets are on sale priced £35 until April 1, and can be purchased by calling Carol Bibby on 01429 404038 or emailing cbibby@hartlepoolbusinessforum.co.uk.
