Lancashire business opens new training centre

North of England Training recently hosted an open evening to launch its new training centre and announce its new range of AAT accredited accountancy courses.

The training provider, established in 2008 has grown rapidly in the past couple of years and now boasts a team of thirteen staff based at their new premises at the Chorley Business & Technology Centre.

The open evening provided an opportunity for visitors to gain an insight into the range of courses available from North of England Training. Having recently been accredited with AAT status, the company now offers numerous accounting qualifications, from a certificate in bookkeeping to a diploma in accounting, enabling people to run their own accountancy business.

Ruth Quaglieri, Director and owner of North of England Training commented, “The evening was a tremendous success with a huge mix of people from employers, young people, parents, youth workers to people interested in a career change attending, who wanted to discover more about our training courses. We believe many went away inspired and with a greater understanding of the different opportunities available to young people.”

Councillor Alistair Bradley, the leader of Chorley Council also attended the evening and commented, “I was very impressed with North of England Training’s new facilities and range of qualifications on offer. I believe they will greatly benefit our already thriving community in Chorley. Young people need a range of approaches to learning and career choices, and North of England Training provide this.”

The company has come a long way since initially starting as a childcare training provider, and now delivers a suite of apprenticeships and qualifications in Accountancy, Team Leading and Management, Leadership and Management, Social Media for Business, Early Years and Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.

Ruth continued, “We couldn’t have done this without the support of the Council’s Business Advisory Service. They put me in contact with Boost Lancashire, a business support service, who provided me with a Growth Mentor. The mentor helped me establish a vision and plan which has enabled me to grow the business from four to thirteen staff in the space of only two years. Without the council’s support we wouldn’t be in the position we are in today. “

The Council also helped Ruth find funding to grow the business, as well as provide regular advice on aspects such as marketing and HR, which are invaluable to small businesses.

Ruth concluded, “Our new training centre is the next step in our journey and we’re extremely excited about helping young people in the Lancashire area reach their full potential, as well as support businesses develop and thrive.”
