AMT Group gears up for further growth with £2m bank backing
AMT Group, the Leeds-headquartered vehicle rental business, is expanding its fleet of luxury, prestige and specialist vehicles, after securing additional funding support from Yorkshire Bank.
Established in 1995, the Armley Road-based business is increasing its 1100-strong UK-wide fleet, with 30 additional high-end vehicles, after securing a £2m asset finance package from Yorkshire Bank in Leeds.
AMT Group employs 180 staff across its seven locations in Leeds, Livingston, Gatwick, Bristol, Nuneaton, London and the recently-opened Manchester rental facility.
The investment in its fleet is part of privately-owned AMT Group’s expansion plans, including a doubling in fleet size over the next 24 months, and two further rental locations.
AMT serves both the corporate and leisure markets, focussing on prestige and sports performance cars, electric and hybrid; plus people carriers, MPVs, double cabs and pick-ups, many with tow bars.
Vehicles are available to rent from just one day to six months or longer. As well as private individuals, customers include accident and fleet management providers; insurance and utility companies; local authorities and emergency services; and hospitality and travel businesses.
The group also has a leasing division offering a substantial short term leasing fleet comprising all types of cars and commercial vehicles.
Neil McGawley, managing director of AMT Group, said: “We have the most diverse independently-owned fleet in the UK, and growing. This further backing from Yorkshire Bank will allow us to provide the quality of vehicle our customers expect, in a competitive marketplace.
“This investment in our fleet is particularly important as we look to increase our presence in the north west of England with the recent opening of our Manchester facility. We are appreciative of the support being provided by Yorkshire Bank, and look forward to an ongoing mutually beneficial relationship.”
AMT Group has been a customer of Yorkshire Bank since December 2014. This new funding support was arranged by Mike Edwards, relationship manager at Yorkshire Bank’s business and private banking centre in Leeds, and Sarah Gwynne, asset finance manager based in Sheffield.
Mike added: “Neil and the strong management team at AMT Group have clear ambitions for the continued growth of the business, which includes expanding the fleet and extending their UK reach. Underpinning these ambitions is the desire to meet the high demands of their growing customer base with the best possible product and service.”
