Huddersfield beauty brand expands following phenomenal growth

A boutique hair and beauty salon in Huddersfield has expanded, following a period of incredible growth for the brand.

Pure Bliss has knocked through into a second unit on Wakefield Road, to transform what was once a popular soft furnishings shop into a relaxing day spa.

The move comes after a whirlwind nine months for salon owner Sarah Southwell, who opened Pure Bliss in May 2015. Since that time she has built a nine-strong team who now offer clients the complete range of hair and beauty treatments.

But when the opportunity came to expand she jumped at the chance. “It has always been my dream to own my own salon,” she recalls. “But I couldn’t ever have imagined it would be this popular. We’ve each brought a range of loyal clientele with us to Pure Bliss, however we’ve grown significantly as a result of our great location, visually striking salon and word of mouth.

“So, when the shop next door became available, sadly following the bereavement of the owner, I began thinking about the wider range of wellbeing treatments we could provide.”

Two months of hard work have therefore taken place behind the scenes to transform the empty retail unit into new Pure Bliss space.

Local firm AJC Joinery and electrical specialist Ti Installations have managed the rip out and re-fit. The property has been fully rewired, with new fuseboard, light fittings and additional sockets throughout. Opulent chandeliers are complemented by calming mood lighting, with a colour changing panel in the ceiling, and the high-end décor now runs seamlessly from one building to the other.

Sarah continues: “We now have a further three treatment rooms – including a double one for couples or friends to enjoy together – as well as an ambient relaxation area. I can’t thank the team enough for completing this project on time, to budget, and to such a great standard.

“Our VIP opening night was a huge success, so we look forward to what the next few months will bring for our team.”
