Sheffield’s Pricecheck on the move with £8m Lloyds funding
Sheffield-based family business, Pricecheck Toiletries Ltd is relocating to new premises in Beighton after growing export sales by 300% since 2009.
The business will consolidate its operations at two existing sites into the new, larger premises on Old Colliery Way, supported by a funding package worth more than £8m from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.
Pricecheck, which employs 83 at its Sheffield warehouse and offices, supplies discounted clearance stock of branded health and beauty, food, drinks, medicines and household consumer products to a global network of retailers.
The business now supplies retailers in more than 70 countries and export sales make up £13m of its total £42m annual turnover.
Mark Lythe, managing director at Pricecheck said: “Relocating to larger premises in Sheffield will enable us to realise our ambitious growth plans to double turnover to £80m, and increase staff numbers to 150, over the next five years.
“The support and expertise of the team at Lloyds Bank is crucial to ensure we have the capital behind us to fulfil these ambitions, while also bringing more investment and jobs to the area.”
Andrew Kerley, relationship director at Lloyds Commercial Banking, added: “The additional capacity in the new premises will give Pricecheck the space it needs to grow, while also consolidating operations which have historically been spread across two sites.”
