Everton sign key new partner at Goodison
Everton have struck a new sponsorship deal with Wiltshire firm Avon Tyres.
The agreement will see the Melksham-based manufacturer become the Blues’ official tyre partner at Goodison Park, giving the firm a presence at the stadium on matchdays.
The club’s head of commercial partnerships, Alan McTavish, said: “The newly expanded commercial team here at Everton are delighted to welcome Avon Tyres on board to the club’s partner portfolio.
“Avon Tyres is an established, premium brand with a rich history in the motor industry and we look forward to working with them to achieve the brand’s business objectives.”
According to a statement on Everton’s website, the deal will stretch until the end of the 2016/2017 season.
Avon Tyres’ European marketing communications manager, Sarah McRoberts, commented: “Football is by far and away the most popular sport in the UK and the Everton partnership provides the perfect platform for us to reach a large number of potential new customers.
“This is the first time Avon Tyres has partnered with a Premier League club and we’re excited to see how the relationship will increase our presence in the UK football market in the future.”
The sponsorship deal follows news over the weekend that Farhad Moshiri, a British-Iranian billionaire, has acquired a 49.9% stake in Everton.
According to the Guardian, EFC chairman Bill Kenwright said Moshiri is the “perfect partner” for the club, adding: “I have got to know Farhad well over the last 18 months and his football knowledge, financial wherewithal and true blue spirit have convinced me that he is the right man to support Everton.”
