New interactive animation to help start a business

A new interactive animation to help people who are thinking about starting their own business has been created. The animation is from AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians), a qualification and professional member body for vocational accountants. AAT’s members work with thousands of UK small businesses and also include individuals who run their own accounting practices.

AAT research found last year that more than one in four British workers (27%) want to leave their job and that of those, almost 50% are considering setting up their own business. However, many of these people were discouraged by a lack of confidence about how to go about starting the business and making it a success.

The animation goes through the different stages of starting a business, from having an initial idea, to growing through the early stages, to making it an established success, offering tips and useful links along the way.

Rob Alder, AAT’s Head of Business Development says: “More and more people are starting their own businesses and self-employment is at an all-time high. However, starting out on your own can be very daunting, and many people don’t have much idea of what to do first. This animation is designed to assist those people by guiding them to different resources that will help them on every step of the way.”
