Liverpool software firm to create 10 jobs with £1.5m funding
Software developer YRfree has revealed plans to create jobs and unlock international growth with a seven-figure funding boost.
The Merseyside-based firm is looking to raise £1.5m to secure a global rollout of eviid, a smartphone app used to capture court-admissible video evidence for the utilities and insurance sectors.
The cash, which is being sought through a range of funding partners, would also be used to develop a standalone consumer version of eviid and create 10 new jobs at YRfree’s Liverpool HQ.
YRfree’s CEO and co-founder, John Ridd, said: “We’ve already deployed the technology behind eviid into some of the most demanding IT environments and in highly regulated industries.
“We’re confident that, as a business application, it will be a game-changer across insurance, facilities management, healthcare, emergency services, health and safety, logistics, media and many other sectors.”
He continued: “A lot of time and money is spent verifying images and video footage – be it for an insurance claim or for a news story. Our technology gets round all that, and the potential applications are limitless.
“By raising additional funding, we will be able to make this technology available to more professionals in other fields where verifiable video footage for evidential purposes is essential.”
To date, YRfree has secured £1.75m in venture capital investment. Following a series of new client wins, the company is on track to exceed a £1m turnover in 2016.
