TRFC ranked 34 in Sunday Times Best 100 Small Companies to Work For
The Sunday Times has ranked The Right Fuelcard Company (TRFC) 34 in the Best 100 Small Companies to Work For list - acknowledging its values-driven and transparent HR strategy.
Assessors from the Sunday Times awarded the business a 3 Star Accreditation - the highest accolade a company can receive - for “exceptional” levels of employee’s engagement. The ranking was based solely on employee’s feedback provided through an independent questionnaire.
TRFC also received a special ‘Discovering Potential Award’ for the pioneering Bayford Foundation - a dedicated training arm which has forged strong partnerships with community organisations such as the Prince’s Trust and Probation Service. The Foundation has created a wealth of sales jobs in the energy industry which are delivering long term career opportunities for local people.
TRFC business director Adam Walsh was presented with the special award by the Rt Hon Priti Patel, MP and Minister of State for Employment, at the ceremony.
Launched against a challenging financial backdrop in 2011, TRFC is marking its highest ever growth and profitability, which it attributes to its powerful culture of enabling employees to achieve their potential via structured training and development plans for career progression.
Launched from its Hunslet headquarters with a team of 3, the business, an independent distributor of Shell, Esso, Keyfuels and UK Fuels cards, today has more than 60 employees and has expanded to new offices in Harrogate and York within the space of nine months.
IiP accredited in 2014, assessors highly praised TRFC’s employee engagement programme – noting how staff are proud to work for the business which they refer to as their second home.
TRFC has invested more than £23k in external training in the last year and employee perks include early finish at 3pm on Fridays, being given their birthdays off and regular team building and charity events.
Said Adam Walsh: “Being ranked 34 in the prestigious Sunday Times Top 100 Best Small Companies to Work For is an incredible achievement - reflecting the fantastic ownership and buy in from every employee. They all make a valuable contribution to our overall success. Well done and an enormous ‘thank you’ to our team.”
