Home interior retailer continues expansion with opening of first Huddersfield store
Baytree Interiors, the home interiors retailer, is continuing to expand from its North Yorkshire base with the opening of a brand new shop in Huddersfield.
The Harrogate-headquartered home accessories, lighting and furniture retailer has secured the lease on a 1,600sq ft unit on Princess Alexandra Walk in the Piazza Shopping Centre.
The outlet will be the eleventh in the company’s portfolio and opens its doors on 10 March, creating six full and part-time jobs.
Previously occupied by clothes retailer, ‘Emma’, family-owned Baytree Interiors has undertaken a full refit of the unit including creating complete room sets to showcase its range of products.
The retailer was helped by Leeds law firm Clarion and letting agents Bowcliffe Chartered Surveyors.
Nik Hill, managing director of Baytree Interiors, explained: “Last year was a really good year for Baytree Interiors. We opened three new retail outlets across the North and we’re looking forward to expanding further this year, taking our range of unusual and competitively-price products to an even wider audience.
“Huddersfield was the next natural step for us in our expansion plans, being near to the M62 it attracts visitors from across the North and North West. When the unit at Princess Alexandra Walk became available we knew it fitted our criteria exactly – being in a prime location with good frontage and the added benefit of both covered and open air shopping which makes the Piazza a popular year-round shopping destination.”
Located in the heart of Huddersfield city centre, the Piazza Shopping centre features a wide range of high street brands including British Home Stores, Thorntons, Boots and Dorothy Perkins.
The Huddersfield outlet is the first of five new shops planned by Baytree Interiors for 2016, with the retailer currently looking for further premises in West Yorkshire and the Humber as it continues to expand its geographic reach.
Baytree Interiors also has outlets in Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ilkley, Northallerton, York, Whitby, Halifax, Middlesbrough and the Metrocentre.
