West Ham United looking to increase Olympic Stadium capacity due to season ticket demand

Premier League football club West Ham United are considering increasing the capacity of their new stadium to season ticket demand.

The club, who are due to move into the Olympic Stadium at the start of next season, are looking to add a further 6,000 seats to bring capacity to 60,000 due to supporter demand for tickets.

The move into the former Olympic 2012 venue will mark the end of a 112 year stint for the Hammers at the current home of Upton Park.

A statement on the club’s website said: “Following extraordinary demand for tickets at the Hammers’ new world-class home, West Ham are now doing everything in their power to expand the capacity to 60,000.

“Should that hard work pay off, there will be an additional 5,000 Band 5 seats and thus a total of 8,000 Season Tickets available for £289 a season.”

West Ham are currently sitting fifth in the Premier League after an impressive first season under Slaven Bilic which has contributed to such high-demand for tickets.
