Global payments company AFEX opens office in Madrid
London-based global payment and risk management company AFEX has opened a new office in Madrid.
The firm, which has been in operation since 1979, will look to offer its payment and foreign exchange services to Spanish businesses from its new Iberian base in the city.
Anthony Rea, EMEA Sales Director at AFEX, believes Spain provides a range of new opportunities for the firm, particularly with Spanish exports reaching an all-time high of €250.2 billion last year.
He said: “Spain is a particularly attractive market for us and we are excited to announce the opening of our office in Madrid.
“The city is a major economic hub in Europe and home to a diverse range of businesses that we are certain will benefit from our tailored payment and treasury management solutions.”
The new office will be commandeered by Fernando Cid Cardenas, Director for Spain, and be staffed by seven permanent employees.
Commenting on the launch of the new office, Cardenas said: “AFEX’s goal is to provide flexible and comprehensive global payment, treasury management and foreign exchange solutions that are unmatched in the industry.
“We look forward to utilising our expertise, experience and high-touch service to assist clients across Spain with their international payments.”
