The Export Hub comes to London
Calling all London businesses looking to grow their business abroad!
Did you know that, right now, there are 1,988 export opportunities for UK businesses to grow their business aboard? From chocolate suppliers wanted by e-commerce platforms in China to smart office and school solutions wanted by Dubai. There is a world of opportunity for London companies, big and small.
From 29 March – 1 April 2016, we will be on the road helping to connect businesses with live export opportunities. Experts will be providing advice and support to help businesses expand abroad through the Export Hub.
The Export Hub will be visiting four locations across London; the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane; Arsenal Emirates Stadium; Renaissance Hotel Heathrow and North London Business Park. The events are free to attend and open to any London business. You will meet International Trade Advisors who can provide sector-specific advice on doing business abroad. Our partners, including Santander; Barclays; Lloyds; HSBC; RBS and UK Export Finance, will explain how to access export finance and make sure you get paid for overseas orders. And you will hear directly from businesses who have successfully taken the step to export, offering real life experience on what it is like to take the plunge and go global. For example, people movement consultancy, ‘Movement Strategies’, will be sharing their story on the Export Hub at the Emirates Stadium. They worked on innovative projects for the London Olympics, Glastonbury and Wimbledon and are now expanding abroad.
The Export Hub is equipped with interactive and handheld touch screens, wi-fi, a private Skype zone, meeting booths and a networking/meeting space for up to 40 people. It will provide a great opportunity for you to network with other London businesses.
The Export Hub is part of Exporting is GREAT, the Government campaign which aims to inspire and support 100,000 additional UK businesses to sell their goods and services overseas by 2020. The year-long Exporting is GREAT Roadshow is travelling the length and breadth of the country.
UK Trade and Investment helps many thousands of companies increase their profits and grow through export every year, offering expertise and contacts through its extensive network of specialists in the UK, and in British embassies and our extensive partner network around the world.
For many London companies, big and small, exporting is a real and exciting way to grow your business. While the USA and the EU remain the UK’s largest trading partners, high-growth countries such as China, Brazil and India are becoming increasingly important export destinations.
Each day’s event will offer something different. Visit our events page to see which day would work for you. Tuesday’s event will welcome companies across the tech and fashion sector, while Wednesday will focus on the sports, language and culture. Thursday and Friday will provide advice and support for businesses across all sectors.
