Speedy installation for snug Cumbrian site

It was back to the North West last week for our team, as we were installing a Klargester BA BioDisc for our customer in Kirkby Lonsdale. The 4-bedroom property came with a relatively small plot of land in which to install the sewage treatment system and connect to the surface water drainage culvert.

Our Managing Director Alistair Dalton conducted a site visit to discuss options with our customer, and found that the location for installing the sewage treatment system was in a garden bordered by high stone walls. As the site was in a central village location, it was decided a system powered by an air blower may cause the normally-quiet humming of the blower to reverberate around the walls and become a nuisance.

For this principle reason, we recommended the Klargester BioDisc sewage treatment system, a unique system from a leading UK manufacturer. The motor-driven rotating discs inside the system provide the treatment for incoming sewage, so there is no external air blower to locate and maintain.

With only 2 metres of inlet drainage and 4 metres of outlet drainage, this was a fairly speedy job for our two Installations Engineers to complete. Dan worked to excavate the hole and assisted with lowering the vessel into position, and the pipework was then connected to the tank in a gravel bed up to the surface water culvert.

As the Klargester BioDisc provides full treatment of sewage, suitable for discharge directly into a watercourse, the connection to the drain in this restricted area was ideal for the customer. Even better, as this was a straightforward installation of a compact system, the entire installation only took 3 days from start to finish!
