Marcia Radosevich - Just the Facts
Based in Wellington, Florida, Marcia Radosevich is a healthcare executive and an entrepreneur. She also serves as a private investor and advisor with New Leaf Ventures and serves on the board of directors for Kit Check. Kit Check is an organization that provides hospitals with RFID technology to manage drugs. Childhood and Personal Life
Marcia Radosevich grew up in a working class family in southern Iowa. She was part of a family that included six children and developed strong bonds with her siblings and her community. As children they mowed their own lawn as well as those of neighbors who were unable to do so themselves. In addition to that she and her siblings often worked with the mentally disabled in their local school and she donated old clothes and toys to those less fortunate.
Weekly, as a child, she assisted children with their reading and school assignments. She has been giving back to her community since early childhood. She believes these values growing up have shaped her values today.
Qualifications
Not only does she have a passion for helping others learn, but also one for learning herself. This love of education has been with her all her life. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell College then went on to earn a PhD in sociology from the University of Iowa. After receiving this degree she set her sights on Yale University.
There she served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow working at the National Institute of Mental Health. As if that wasn’t enough, she went on to the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where she earned a certificate of Business Administration. While she lived on small stipend while earning her degrees, she considers herself quite fortunate to have enjoyed the experience.
She has also worked as a sociology instructor for Yale University and for Boston College at previous points in her career.
The Career of Marcia Radosevich
Radosevich set her sights on Boston early in her career. Her first private sector place of employment was The Health Data Institute. HDI was a data-driven firms dedicated to healthcare cost containment. Her role was to conduct research to identify areas where healthcare entities could cut massive costs while improving healthcare quality. From there, Radosevich has found her home in the field of healthcare information technology – a field in which she has enjoyed great success.
In her role as private sector professional, Radosevich has helped to develop and grow several healthcare startups. One of these companies provided software relevant to physicians in the field of concierge medicine – one that has seen a sharp rise in interest in recent years. She also serves as an advisor to an organization developing radiology order management software.
It is past roles like these that have given her a great deal of strength in the healthcare technology industry as well as the professional skillsets necessary to serve in the capacity of advisor, investor, and more, for companies trying to get their feet in the doors in an industry that’s already crowded.
She believes the her ability to commercialize innovative business ideas, create effective business plans, and identify promising candidates for executive leadership sets her apart as an advisor in the healthcare technology industry.
Among the past positions that have shaper her career and sharpened her skills are roles at organization like Entagen where she served as an advisor and Vitivity where she served as the co-founder and a board member. She helped Millennium Pharmaceuticals manage and sell genomic testing options, personalized clinical information, and personalized genomic information banking.
Marcia Radosevich is always on the lookout for new opportunities. This time she has set her sights on Wellington, Florida where she believes she can have a strong impact on the aging population that calls this part of Florida home.
She believes she can continue to help people by improving technology and helping to invest in healthcare startups that may very well shape the future of medicine.
Her personal interests are a little more eclectic. She loves riding horses and is a staunch advocate for animal rights. Additionally, she considers herself a little bit of a globe trotter – always willing to head off to one exotic location or another. She enjoys reading science fiction, practicing Buddhism, and is a very strong advocate for international women’s rights.
