Investec raises over £28k for Children's Hospice

Patients and their families at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice are set to benefit from a donation of over £28,000, thanks to the fundraising efforts of staff at Investec Wealth & Investment in Sheffield throughout the year.

Members of staff from Sheffield took part in a number of sports-themed challenges, which included cycling over 300 miles from Manchester to London via five Ashes test cricket grounds, organising a charity ball at Sheffield City Hall, a sporting celebrity curry night and bucket collections at sports venues and theatres in the Sheffield area to help boost the total. The fundraising was part of the Investec Ashes 2015 Cycle Challenge, which took place in July last year.

The money will be used to refurbish four specially adapted bedrooms by the hospice, based in North Anston, which provides care and support to children and young adults with a shortened life expectancy.

Owen Wright, Investment Director at Investec Wealth & Investment said: “After almost a year of fundraising, it is great to be able to present the money to Bluebell Wood, a charity which does so much for children with life- limiting conditions and their families in South Yorkshire and the surrounding region. We would like to thank everyone who supported us and made this all possible.”

Rachael Dawes, Corporate Fundraiser at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, said: “We are really proud that Investec Wealth & Investment chose to support our charity. The money raised will make a huge difference to the lives of our patients and we are tremendously grateful.”
