Chafes partner Travis to retire
One of the region’s most respected commercial property lawyers has announced his retirement.
Mike Travis is to leave Cheshire-based Chafes Solicitors at the end of April after more than 30 years with the firm, where he headed the firm’s commercial property department. He said:
“On a personal level, I’m delighted as there are many new paths and plenty of scenery to discover and savour with boot soles and bicycle tyres. I intend to start making my ‘deposits in the bank account of life’ with an amble down the Danube by bicycle from source to Budapest!
“Professionally, I have mixed emotions. As well as having enjoyed a lengthy relationship with the very best of business partners, I’ve been privileged to have forged many close relationships with colleagues, clients and contacts who I’ll miss.
“That said, I know I’m leaving things in the extremely capable hands of a team that will take Chafes on to even greater success.”
Jon Roberts, managing partner of Chafes, said:
“Although we’ll all be very sorry to see Mike go, we’ve had to plan for this eventuality. Last year we appointed Daniel Woodcock as Head of Commercial Property to ensure continuity and a smooth transition of work. His team continues to grow in strength and Mike knows he’s leaving his clients and contacts in safe and capable hands.”
Chafes has offices in New Mills, Wilmslow and Alderley Edge.
