Innovation partner sparks employability in North East
Order fulfilment and contact services business Spark Response are backing a new initiative to help the region’s unemployed.
Teaming up with Sunderland AFC charity Foundation of Light, Spark Response has become the first Innovation Partner backing the organisation’s employability project. The award-winning Back in the Game programme enables hundreds of North East jobseekers to enhance their employment prospects and has already helped over 400 people return to work since the programme began. Consisting of an exclusive group of businesses who are committed to making a difference in their local communities, the Innovation Partner scheme will allow the Foundation’s team of specialist staff to research and develop its diverse projects and tailor delivery to achieve an even greater positive impact in the region. Stuart Ormston, HR Manager at Spark Response commented: “We’re very proud to team up with Foundation of Light to become innovation partners for its Back in the Game programme. “As employers we consider it our responsibility to back the development of our future workforce, and improve the skills and attitudes of those who will help North East enterprise thrive. “We have worked with Foundation of Light for a number of years and their approach is similar to our own: professional, passionate and dedicated to becoming the best in their field. “We’re delighted to be able to take our relationship to the next level through the Innovation Partner initiative.” Richard Hopper, Foundation of Light’s Head of Commercial, said: “Spark Response has been a huge supporter of the Back in the Game programme for some time now offering mock interviews, work placements and guidance for the jobseekers on the programme. “Now its support as an Innovation Partner will allow us to make an even bigger difference to those seeking work in the North East.”
