Riverside welcomes new service manager
There’s a new face at Riverside Waste Machinery’s North Yorkshire headquarters, following the recruitment of service manager Barry Scanlon.
Heading up Riverside’s after sales division, Barry is now the main point of contact for existing waste baler customers.
He is responsible for proactively scheduling routine machine inspections and servicing, coordinating maintenance enquiries, organising operator training, processing orders of waste baler consumables and dealing with ad hoc repair queries.
The appointment marks the latest in a series of business development phases for Riverside. As the company’s nationwide client base has grown, so too has managing director Jonathan Oldfield’s commitment to outstanding customer service levels.
He explains: “We don’t want to be known simply as a waste baler provider. Customers increasingly comment on the quality of friendly, knowledgeable service we deliver and the lengths we go to, to ensure organisations get maximum value from their machines. Barry will ensure these service levels remain consistently high, as we continue to grow.”
Barry joins the team with a staggering 23 years’ service in the Armed Forces. In the latter part of his Army life, he held senior service and maintenance roles in logistics and warehousing. He adds: “Whilst Riverside is obviously a very different type of organisation, the requirements of the role perfectly mirror what I’ve been doing for the last 6-8 years of my career.
“I’m very passionate about values and standards, and have already recognised the scope for further progress in this evolving waste and recycling sector.”
Jonathan concludes: “Barry has demonstrated a real ability to get things done. He’s a hard worker and has immediately proved a hit with our customers.”
