Local house builder supports volunteers at Sutton Bank

Local housebuilder David Wilson Homes has made a donation to the North York Moors National Park Authority to help its team of volunteers at the Sutton Bank National Park Centre, purchase new tools and equipment. The funds will help support the team in undertaking vital conservation work, and maintaining the habitat surrounding the visitor centre.

The housebuilder, which is developing the new Abbey Park site in Ampleforth, has made the £500 donation to the team of 31 volunteers who give their time for free to help maintain the landscape of the Sutton Bank area. The funds will assist in the further purchase of tools and protective clothing the volunteers need to undertake their jobs, which include, scrub management, wildflower grassland management, maintenance of the ‘easy access’ paths, clearing brash from heath areas and surfacing and vegetation management on promoted mountain bike routes.

Abbey Park is located 15 minutes drive from Sutton Bank, near the market town of Helmsley. The new development, which is situated in the picturesque village of Ampleforth, has a mix of 4-5 bedroom homes, with excellent links to nearby York and Thirsk.
