LJLA forecasts passenger growth as easyJet launches Winter 2016 schedule

Low-cost carrier easyJet has officially launched this year’s Winter services at Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA).

Bosses at the airport have forecast an increase in passenger figures for the airline, which is operating additional weekly departures to a number of destinations in the UK and Europe including the Isle of Man, Paris, Malaga and Amsterdam.

Winter 2016 will see the carrier offer 600k seats for passengers travelling from Liverpool, with some 3,700 easyJet flights taking off from the airport over the season.

LJLA’s air service development director, Mark Povall, said: “Winter 2015/16 was a very successful period for the Airport with growth in passenger numbers across all markets and we expect easyJet’s forthcoming Winter programme to bring further growth later this year and into 2017.”

Last month, easyJet was one of a number of airlines to ramp up their services at Liverpool airport over Easter.

easyJet’s UK commercial manager, Ali Gayward, commented: “We’re pleased to be putting Winter 2016 from Liverpool on sale for our passengers today, allowing them to take advantage of our lowest fares from the airport to the ski resorts as well as to the cities and beaches across Europe.”

The launch of easyJet’s Winter 2016 flights follows last week’s reveal of Ryanair’s full Winter schedule at LJLA.
