Space & Time Media kicks off positioning strategy with new Exchange Quay base

Space & Time Media, a national media buying and planning agency, has established a new base at the recently refurbished 433,637 sq ft Exchange Quay office scheme in Salford.

The firm relocated its Greater Manchester team from the nearby Furness House to Number 8 Exchange Quay after securing 3,156 sq ft on a 10-year lease.

The move comes as part of a long-term positioning strategy and follows a management buy-out deal from media company Emerge Limited.

Ed Hill, Space & Time Media’s associate director, said: “Space and Time’s Manchester office is the second largest in the agency, and as the business grows following the MBO we’re expecting to expand further.

“We selected Exchange Quay due to the success of the recent investment, which has created a positive and quality working environment with lots of great amenities.”

He added: “Our business model focuses on representing national businesses at a regional level, so the proximity to the motorway network also means our valued clients are within easy reach.”

Space & Time Media is one of several firms to move into Exchange Quay so far in 2016. Earlier this year, insurance company 1st Central signed up for 10,838 sq ft on a 10-year lease, while US-headquartered conglomerate 3M moved around 120 of its employees to a new 12,500 sq ft base at the development.

Savills and Canning O’Neill are joint agents on Exchange Quay, which is owned by property investment firm Hunter Real Estate Investment Managers.

Jeremy Birkett-Jones, Hunter’s investment director, commented: “The lettings momentum at Exchange Quay shows no sign of slowing and our agents are presently handling high levels of interest across the range of buildings.”

Hunter recently ploughed £10m into upgrading the site’s six office buildings.

Canning O’Neill director James Dickinson commented: “Occupiers can really appreciate where Hunter’s investment has gone at Exchange Quay and the environment that has been created is playing a huge part in attracting new companies to the development.”
