Escrick holiday park enjoys a record year
The award-winning Hollicarrs Holiday Park in York Road, Escrick, near York, has just enjoyed its most successful year since it opened 11 years ago.
Eighteen quality lodges were sold last year at Hollicarrs, breaking all previous records.
This stellar year will be celebrated at the popular annual Hollicarrs Open Day, which is being held on Saturday May 14 between 10am-4pm.
Set in 25 acres of woodland in the grounds of the historic Escrick Park Estate, Hollicarrs Holiday Park features more than a 100 bespoke lodges and holiday homes. It has a range of activities including fishing, horse riding, bowling and tennis, while cycle trails run through the estate, which has many pretty woodland walks.
Dawn Buck, Park Manager, commented: “It gives us tremendous pleasure to report on a record-breaking year, underling the increasing popularity of Hollicarrs’s lodges, environment and location. Whilst we love our holiday park, it is wonderful that others do, too.
“It is clear that buying luxury lodges is becoming increasingly attractive, especially to the over-55s, who are looking for peace and quiet as they approach retirement.
“Hollicarrs will be looking extremely beautiful in May, with our bluebells creating a stunning carpet of colour around the woodland. On our Open Day, we are looking forward to showing off our new show homes. Special offers will be available on the day and our sales team will be on hand to talk about holiday home ownership,” said Dawn.
The main attraction will be Diamond Canterbury Limited Edition lodge, which was especially commissioned for the 10th anniversary last year.
Hollicarrs is a private, secure, natural sanctuary that is set within the 250-acre woodlands that make up the historic Escrick Park Estate. All lodges and holiday homes are well-spaced and carefully-sited to make sure all owners are able to experience the natural beauty and tranquillity of their surroundings.
Hollicarrs has excellent transport links, both by road or rail, and is also very close to the Robin Hood Doncaster and Leeds Bradford airports. Although the park is not residential, the 12 month holiday licence lets owners enjoy their holiday home at any time of the year. This means owners can take full advantage of all the wonderful facilities available, and simply escape the stresses of day to day life.
It offers a range of Timber Lodges and Holiday Homes, with a selection of demonstration lodges, sited, fully furnished and available for viewing. Holiday homes vary in size and price, which gives potential buyers far more choice when shopping around.
The Open Day will enable visitors to look at what Hollicarrs has to offer, meet the owners of the lodges and holiday homes, sample the facilities on offer and enjoy entertainment and refreshments laid on especially for the day.
This year the Open Day will feature a number of special events including:
BBQ food Homemade afternoon teas A singer Boules/petanque and green bowling demonstration. Golf Buggy rides around the park A fishing competition
Dawn Buck explained: “We are very proud of what we have achieved in our 11 years at Hollicarrs. Our owners love it here – it was only very recently one family said they had cancelled a holiday in Tenerife to be with us this Spring, saying the beauty and tranquillity they enjoyed here was better than anything in the Canaries.”
The holiday park is the brainchild of Charlie Forbes-Adam, who manages the Escrick Park estate, of which Hollicarrs is part. Mr Forbes Adam wanted to create an extra special experience for holiday home owners.
He explained: “In everything we do, the environment is of paramount importance and the care and attention put into the planning stage of Hollicarrs was carried through to produce what is seen today. Great care has been taken so as not to disturb the eco-balance existing here.”
This work was recognised when the park was awarded the David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation and the 5 Stars VisitBritain Award for an exceptional lodge park, within the first year of opening in 2006, and continue to be held to this day.
The Open Day begins at 10.00am and continues until 4.00 pm. Everyone is welcome. There will be demonstration lodges, fully furnished and sited, available for viewing on the day, but almost any type of lodge or holiday home can be purchased from an extensive range, with special offers available for one day only.
