Ryanair expands at Manchester Airport with new Polish route

European carrier Ryanair is set to expand its Winter 2016 schedule at Manchester Airport with the launch of a route connecting the North West to Wroclaw, Poland.

The service, together with several other new European routes announced earlier this year, is expected to see the airline deliver an additional 4.1m passengers annually for Manchester Airport while supporting thousands of jobs.

Ryanair’s upcoming Winter schedule will encompass 35 routes and more than 200 flights every week.

The airline’s head of marketing, Robin Kiely, said: “We are pleased to launch a new Manchester route to Wroclaw as part of our significantly expanded winter 2016 schedule, which also includes three new routes to Berlin, Hamburg and Nuremberg, which will help deliver 4.1m customers p.a. and support 3,100 jobs at Manchester Airport, as we grow by 33%.”

Ryanair’s expansion follows a bumper month for Manchester Airport, which rounded off a record year after welcoming 1.74m passengers in March.

Stephen Turner, the airport’s commercial director, commented: “It is great to see Ryanair add another destination to its offering here at Manchester Airport, the UK’s third largest.

“The new route to Wroclaw strengthens the airport’s offering to Poland and gives the 22m people in our large catchment area more choice when flying from the North.”
