Manchester’s premier post-production company, 422.tv, is celebrating after receiving a nomination for ‘Best History Programme’ at this year’s Royal Television Society Scotland (RTS) Awards.
‘The Day They Dropped The Bomb’ tells the story of the US atomic attack on Hiroshima. Praised for being an “affecting yet important documentary”, 422.tv facilitated the programme which presented a minute-by-minute account of the day and featured interviews with survivors and most notably, the navigator of the flight crew that dropped the fateful bomb.
On the nomination, Damien Lynch, facilities director at 422.tv, said: “We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for these prestigious awards. The RTS Awards are renowned in the television industry so it’s great to be recognised for our work. This nomination is a significant achievement for the team and we look forward to celebrating on the night.”
The RTS awards cover all forms of production, recognising excellence and innovation across a range of genres and crafts. The winners will be revealed at an awards dinner on Wednesday 25th May.
